Brenda joined our team in January of 2017. She and her husband ran a marketing research firm for over 20 years. She has five years of recent experience in the medical field as well.
Brenda's favorite thing about orthodontics is helping people feel more confident about their smiles. She enjoys getting to know the patients, and following their progress over time. Her favorite thing about working with Dr. Severt is her dedication to the practice, and her patients. "Dr. Severt is a wonderful boss, who values and appreciates her staff."
Brenda is a native of Northeastern Pennsylvania who fell in love with N.C. eight years ago when she would frequently visit her daughter, and son in law, as graduate students at UNC. She has lived in Carrboro since the fall of 2015.
Brenda, and her husband Steve, have four children, and four grandchildren. Brenda enjoys spending time reading, walking, listening to live music, spending time with friends, and sitting on a beach. Most important to her is her family, the holidays they spend together, and the vacations they share.
Jennifer is one of the many smiling faces who will greet you at Dr. Severt's office. She will answer all of your questions regarding financial information and insurance. She also takes care of the business's financial accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc. Additionally, she helps out at the front desk and can schedule your next appointment for you. She has worked for Dr. Severt for 17 years.
Jennifer’s favorite thing about orthodontics is the final result — a beautiful smile! Her favorite thing about her job is having the opportunity to help others. Her favorite thing about this office is that Dr. Severt is an amazing person and an amazing orthodontist. "I love coming to work everyday. We have an amazing team and we are like family."
Jennifer is a native of Alamance County. She and her husband, Kenny, have two daughters, Hayley and Kenley, and a son, Kendel. "I am a big family person. I enjoy every minute I have with my family. I enjoy watching my girls play softball and my son play baseball, and football. I enjoy date nights with my amazing husband. I love going to church with my family. God has richly blessed me with a wonderful family and a wonderful job, and work family."
Betty is responsible for making your clinical visits run smoothly and for training new clinical staff. She has been in orthodontics for 33 years, and has been with Dr. Severt for 17 years.
Her favorite thing about orthodontics is “seeing people’s lovely smiles!” Her favorite thing about working with Dr. Severt is her work family, and the patients. Betty’s favorite thing about her job is making beautiful smiles for our patients.
Betty is a native of Hillsborough, NC. Betty and her husband, Russell, have two children. They have a son Rusty, married to Emily, and a daughter Maggie, married to Mason. Betty has three beautiful grandchildren. In her spare time, Betty enjoys cooking, reading, and her grandchildren.
Jennifer has spent 27 years in orthodontics. She has been working with Dr. Severt for 13 years. The reason she likes working in orthodontics is because she likes seeing the change in patients when they feel more confident with their smiles. It has a "butterfly effect," a small change that can have a great effect.
Jennifer's favorite thing about her job and working in the office is getting to interact with people from different walks of life and interests, while helping to improve their smiles.
Jennifer is a native of Alamance county. She and her husband Keith have been married for 17 years and have two daughters, Samantha (15) and Lexie (13). Jennifer enjoys sports, reading, going to Disney every chance she gets, attending her girls sporting events and choral concerts.
Michelle is responsible for welcoming new patients to the office and coordinating everything necessary to get started with orthodontic treatment. She assists Dr. Severt during all initial examinations. Michelle has been in the dental field for thirty years, twenty seven of those years have been in orthodontics, and she has spent 11 years with Dr. Severt.
Michelle likes working in orthodontics because she loves educating patients on the benefits of having orthodontic treatment. "I love to see their enthusiasm when they see a change in their appearance and actively participate in their treatment." Michelle’s favorite thing about her job, and this office is that "I love working with people, and I enjoy the opportunity to witness their transformations. I love my work family too."
Michelle is a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and has lived in North Carolina for twenty years. She and her husband Henry have a son, Zachary, and a stepdaugher, Jessie. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys reading, studying spirituality, couponing, and dancing. She is a big fan of Boxers, and loves her dogs Ozzie, and Walter. She enjoys spending time with her family, and watching movies.
Clinical Assistant; Lab Technician
Vicki joined our team in July 2010 after graduating from Alamance Community College. She has been a member of our staff for seven years now. She is responsible for completing new patient records, which include x-rays and digital scans of the teeth, assisting with patient care in the clinical area, and working in the lab.
Vicki enjoys orthodontics because "I like meeting new people, and listening to their stories, all the while helping them smile more." Her favorite thing about her job and this office is being involved in the unraveling of beautiful smiles alongside Dr. Severt, and being part of such a wonderful group of women.
Vicki is married to Daniel Speight, who is a Carrboro fire fighter. She and Daniel have a two year old daughter, Alayna. Vicki enjoys spending time outside with her family, and her Boston terriers named Duke and Tito. She also enjoys online shopping.
Marylee joined our staff in 2017. She will greet you warmly, check you in, and out, answer your calls, and schedule your appointments. Mary Lee has been in the dental field since 2010. Her favorite thing about working with Dr. Severt is her positive energy, her words of encouragement, and her trust in her employees.
Mary Lee's favorite thing about the practice of orthodontics is seeing our patient's changing smiles. She enjoys getting to see the patients frequently, and getting to know them, and helping people feel good about their smiles.
Mary Lee especially enjoys interacting with our patients, and parents.
Mary Lee has lived in Chapel Hill her whole life. She lives with her husband Michael, and their Chihuahua, Ace. She also enjoys spending time at the local lakes with her husband, spoiling Ace, working around their home, attending local track races, and writing songs and music.
Michelle M. joined our team in 2017. She has worked in the field of orthodontics since 2006. One of her favorite things about the practice of orthodontics is getting the one on one time with the patients, and getting to know them.
Her favorite thing about working with Dr. Severt is that this is a very family oriented office, the team works great together, and it is a fun office to work in.
Michelle's favorite things about her job are seeing the patients grow into young adults, and seeing the final result of their new smiles.
Michelle has been married to her husband Daniel for eleven years, and they have been together for fifteen years. They have two sons, Brody (8 years old) and Colby (5 years old). "My boys are my world." Dash, their mini dotson, rounds out the family. Michelle is a native of Graham, NC. She has lived there all of her life. She and her family enjoy watching the boys play travel baseball, their family vacations to the beach, and taking the boys to college baseball and football games. They are huge Duke Blue Devils fans.
